Verona Jane Friesson

Verona Friesson, a lifelong resident of the Village of Wetcamp in the Gila River Indian Community, passed away surrounded by family and loved ones on August 4, 2024. 

 Verona was the second oldest of eleven children, a testament to her enduring strength and resilience. She is survived by her daughter, Chevella Vasquez, and her sons, Joe Friesson Jr. and Christopher Rendon, who will continue to honor her legacy. Verona was preceded in death by her beloved children, Delia Makil, Brenton Makil, and Stephanie Makil, whom she now joins in eternal rest. 

 Wake services will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at 6:00 PM at the District 5 Service Center located at 3456 W. Casa Blanca Rd. Funeral services will follow on Sunday, August 11, 2024, at the Vah-Ki Cemetery, where friends and family will gather to celebrate her life and bid a heartfelt farewell. 

 Verona’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
