CASA BLANCA - Verona Mae Stewart, 81, of Casa Blanca died on Sept. 21, 2015, at Chandler Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Vah-Ki Presbyterian Church. The funeral will follow at 7, with Pastor Sharon Selestewa officiating. Burial will be Thursday in Vah-Ki Cemetery.
Mrs. Stewart was born on April 18, 1934, in Sacaton and was a daughter of Mills Manuel Sr. and Eula Nelson.
She was a homemaker. A member of Vah-Ki Presbyterian Church, she was a deacon and very active in the choir. She enjoyed sewing and singing, but her family was her pride and joy. She never passed up a chance to take care of them.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen P. Stewart of Bapchule and Annette J. Stewart of Casa Blanca; two sons, Durwin R. and David L. Stewart of Casa Blanca; three brothers, Sheron Manuel of Salt River, Dwight Manuel of Riverside and Larry Manuel of Why; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland H.; a sister; and a brother.
