SCOTTSDALE - Vickie Delaine LaMantia, 64, of Scottsdale died on Dec. 19, 2018.
Ms. LaMantia was born on May 16, 1954, in Pikeville, Tennessee, and moved to Eloy when she was 3. She met and married her husband of 17 years, Sam, and lived in Tucson, then Melrose Park, Illinois. She was a dedicated and hard worker. Her career included jobs at Jerry's Pharmacy in Eloy, as a greyhound racing trainer, JMD Aircraft, WesPac Produce and as a human resources administrator at Aerotec International.
She also was a devoted mother and was very proud of her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved holidays and family get-togethers. She enjoyed politics, reading, sewing, animal rescue and supporting several charities. She was known for her feisty, good sense of humor, thoughtfulness and care for others.
Survivors include a brother, David Davidson; a daughter, Nicole Perez; two sons, Michael "Pj" Davidson and Sam LaMantia; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jerry and Joyce Davidson.
Celebration of life with sharing of stories at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 19, at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande, with reception following.
