ARIZONA CITY — Vincent Zachary "Vince" Crison, 76, died on April 22, 2012, surrounded by his loved ones at home in Arizona City.
Mr. Crison was born on Jan. 6, 1936, in Royal Oak, Mich., to Gregory and Kathleen Crison. He served in the Merchant Marine and Coast Guard and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a civil engineer for 33 years with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, working in the Middle East for 11 of those years before retiring from the San Francisco District.
He was a professional scuba diver, a self-taught jeweler, gemologist and certified gold and silversmith, specializing in black coral and running a jewelry business until becoming ill. He loved living in the house he built in 1992 in Arizona City. He was an avid golfer and a 20-year member of the Arizona City Golf Club. He loved designing and making jewelry, playing the organ, tending his gardens and riding his motorcycle. He was well liked.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Nadine; two sons, Kevin Crison of Suisun City, Calif., and Kayne Crison of Arizona City; two daughters, Bonita of Michigan and Kimberly Moreno of Pennsylvania; a sister, Kathy Kay of Florida; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Adelaide; two brothers, Roy and Russ Crison; and a son, Vincent Z. Crison II.
A private memorial service was held.
J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
