ELOY - Viola B. Gant, 85, of Eloy died on Nov. 8, 2013, at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the Church of Christ. The funeral will follow at 11, with Pastor Eddie Williams officiating. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mrs. Gant was born on Aug. 28, 1928, in St. Louis and was a daughter of Robert and Mary Adams. She met and married Robert B. Gant and had 12 children. She joined and was baptized into the Church of Christ in 1986 and attended services regularly until her health hindered that. She volunteered as a teacher’s aide at Eloy Head Start for many years. Her greatest joy was in doting on her family.
Survivors include five sons, Robert Gant of Arizona City, Eugene Gant of Tucson, Eltorna and Ronnie Gant of Eloy and Larry Gant of Tucson; three daughters, Lula Gant-Dorsey of Whitehouse, Texas, Bertha Montgomery of Richmond, Va., and Vernita Gant of Eloy; 32 grandchildren; 72 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; four sons, R.D., Willie B., Tommy and Fredrick Gant; three brothers, James, Jimmy and Robert Adams Jr.; two sisters, Mary Lou Beach and Rosie Lee Elem; and three grandsons, Ronnie, Christopher and Shansen.
