Virgil Boyd Thomas

BLACKWATER - Virgil Boyd Thomas, 77, died on Dec. 6, 2017, in Laveen.

Mr. Thomas was born on May 3, 1940, to Vincent Thomas and Marion James in Sacaton Flats. He enjoyed spending time with family and especially his grandchildren.

He retired from Gila River Indian Care Center in Laveen and was an Arizona Cardinals fan.

Survivors include two daughters, Stephanie Cagle of Phoenix and Yvette Thomas of Laveen; four siblings, Rema Thomas of Sacaton Flats, Dallas Thomas of Sacaton, Betty Molina of Blackwater and Vincent Thomas Jr. of Maricopa; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene, and two sisters, Mary Ann Cruye and Mae F. Thomas.

Wake beginning at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14, at Holy Family Catholic Mission. Funeral Mass celebrated there at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, by the Rev. Antony Tinker. Graveside service following in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery.
