SACATON - Virginia Alma Jones, 83, of Sacaton died peacefully on July 26, 2016.
Mrs. Jones, also known as Gini, Virg and Aunt Snooty, was born on Sept. 11, 1932, in Blackwater to Andrew and Effie Williams. She was devoted to her family and enjoyed spending time with them and her friends while sipping on a cool glass of Coke. She was very particular about having that beverage.
She especially enjoyed sharing stories about the "old days" and making people laugh. She was known for her guidance and loving examples of hope, love and Jesus in her heart.
Survivors include eight daughters and sons, Lavaria C. Anton and Zella O. Jones of Sacaton, Armantino H. Jones Sr. of San Manuel, Jonah C. Jones of Sacaton, Darlene A. Juarez of San Antonio, Texas, Elston D. Jones of Sacaton, Verletta R. Pirelli of Kentucky and April Jones of New Mexico; a brother, Clayton Williams; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Jones Jr.; two sons, Sheldon K. and Orlando C. Jones; two sisters, Myrle Jordan and Marilyn Joann; and three brothers, Bernard, Roy and Robert Williams.
Visitation will be from 7 to 10 p.m. today at the Zella Jones home, 34 E. Sacaton Road. The funeral will be at 6 a.m. Saturday at Sacaton First Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Aaron Johns officiating. Burial will be in Jones Cemetery in Santan.
