Virginia "Gina" Running Eagle-Jacobs

BLACKWATER - Virginia "Gina" Running Eagle-Jacobs, 76, of Blackwater died on Jan. 21, 2020.

Ms. Running Eagle-Jacobs was born on Dec. 21, 1943, to Marjorie (Hawk) and Charles Running Eagle in Pine Ridge, South Dakota. She was a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe.

She served her country in the Navy and the Gila River Indian Community as a social worker. She loved her family and friends.

Survivors include twin daughters, Lisa Jacobs-Martinez and Rose Jacobs-Davis; a son, John Jacobs Jr.; two brothers, Matthew and Benard Running Eagle; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Jacobs Sr.; a daughter, Jonelle Jacobs; and a brother, David Running Eagle.

Wake beginning at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at the District 1 Multipurpose Building.
