Walter L. Nelson

CASA GRANDE - Walter L. "Walt" Nelson, 84, of Casa Grande died on June 13, 2020, at Banner Casa Grande Medical Center.

Mr. Nelson was born in Shelbyville, Tennessee, on Aug. 1, 1935. He retired after working for the Arizona Department of Transportation.

He was an active member of his church and loved western novels, movies and country music.

Survivors include a daughter, Janice Fancher of Tempe; a son, Steve Nelson of San Tan Valley; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine Nelson, and a daughter, Jeri Nelson.

Graveside service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 20, in Mountain View Cemetery.
