SACATON — Walter Patrick Porter Sr., 50, of Sacaton died on Sept. 16, 2012, at Mercy Gilbert Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday at the District 3 Service Center. The graveside service will be at 6 a.m. Sunday in East Sacaton Cemetery.
Mr. Porter was born on Oct. 14, 1961, in Sacaton. He was a welder for Gila River Farms for 12-plus years and enjoyed arts and crafts, woodworking and welding. He also enjoyed going to Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis Johnson and Walter Porter Jr. of Stotonic; four daughters, Danielle Allison of Stotonic, Erin Flores of Sacaton, Shannie P. Porter and Leila Miguel of Blackwater; three brothers, Anthony and Larry Porter Jr. of Stotonic and Vernon Porter of Sacaton; three sisters, Tina Terrazas of Gila Butte, Robert Porter of Sacaton and Michelle Williams of ChuiChu; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Larry D. Porter Sr. and Veronica Williams, and two sisters, Loranda Porter and Louise Jose.
