Wanda Lee Johns, 86, a longtime Casa Grande resident who was active civically, died on Sept. 23, 2012, at Family Tree Assisted Living.
The celebration of life will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Casa Grande Union High School culinary arts building. All are welcome.
Mrs. Johns was born on Feb. 7, 1926, in Chandler and was a daughter of Art and Lois Brooks. She was a self-employed retailer, a real estate agent and served on the City Council and as justice of the peace in Casa Grande. She was a member of Zonta Club of Casa Grande Valley and Church of the Nazarene and helped found the organization Against Abuse Inc.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Bob J.; a sister, Joyce Peindl of Casa Grande; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Livingston, and a brother, Delbert Brooks.
