Wanda Sue Brown, loving wife, mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother
has entered her final resting place. Wanda, 83, of Casa
Grande, AZ went to be with the Lord on May 15, 2017. Wanda was
born on February 28, 1934 in Siloam Springs, AR to Everett and
Dymple Stanfield Anthony.
Wanda grew up in Arkansas and Oklahoma. A jean jacket led her
to the love of her life, Earl G. Brown and on September 26, 1952 they
were married. Together they lived in Oklahoma City, OK, Sierra Vista,
AZ and traveled to a multitude of places during their RV-ing days after retirement.
Wanda spent 35 years in Civil Service at Tinker Air Force Base, OK and Ft. Huachuca, AZ.
Her diverse employment included: Roller Skating carhop, Variety and Department store clerk,
telephone operator, High School principal’s secretary, silk flower business, real estate agent
and appraiser, Campground salesperson and RV activity director. She obtained an Amateur
radio license, took sign language classes, an income tax course, danced with the Rickety
Rockettes, and was always very involved in her church. After her retirement in 1988, Wanda
and Earl traveled to many places in their RV and made many good friends along the way. They
participated in Arizona Baptist Campers on Mission and Arizona Baptist Disaster Relief along
with various jobs at each campground they visited.
Wanda and Earl settled in Casa Grande, AZ in 2004 where Wanda became a member of
The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and was faithful to her church family at
First Baptist Church, Arizona City. No one was a stranger to Wanda and she could stand in
the grocery line and know everyone and everything about everyone before she checked out.
Wanda is survived by her husband, Earl Gene Brown of Casa Grande; a son, Randy Brown
(Yvonne) of Rancho Mirage, CA; a daughter, Kelly Segal (Gary) of Sierra Vista, AZ; one
brother, Bob Anthony (Kay) of Norman, OK.; three grandchildren, Kristen Jensen (Nels) of
Valencia, CA, Philip Brown (Katrin) of Long Beach, CA and Nathan McCarty of Sierra Vista,
AZ; along with three great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Tinley and Brady Jensen of Valencia, CA.
Celebration of Life Services will be held at First Baptist Church, 13955 S. Sunland Gin Rd.,
Arizona City, AZ on Saturday, May 20th at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests
that donations be made to Seeds of Hope, 702 East Cottonwood Lane, Casa Grande, AZ
85122 or your favorite charity.
