Wayne Cornelius Moffett

SACATON - Wayne Cornelius Moffett, 77, of Sacaton died on Feb. 2, 2019.

Mr. Moffett was born on Sept. 29, 1941, in Santan to Jonah Moffett and Charlotte Russell. He enjoyed being with his family and was a loving, caring, selfless father who lived for his kids.

He was the last survivor of the Gila River Old Time Fiddlers and also a Matachines dancer and farmer.

Survivors include 11 daughters and sons, Charlotte Fafard, Rebecca, Katrina, Waylon, Kimberly, Michael, Emma and Melissa Moffett, Margarita, Amelia and Magdalena Jose; three siblings, Diana Rhodes, Raymond Moffett and Ophelia Cruz; 29 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Aaron Moffett, and a daughter, Karen Knighton.

Wake beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 8, at the District 4 Service Center in Santan. Graveside service at 9 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 9, in Santan Day School Cemetery.
