SANTA ROSA VILLAGE - Wayne Morales Lopez Sr., 45, of Santa Rosa died on May 10, 2014, in Sells.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Elizabeth Catholic Mission by the Rev. Bill Minkel. A wake will follow, beginning at 8 p.m., at the Lopez home. Burial will be at sunrise Saturday in San Luis Cemetery.
Mr. Lopez was born on July 17, 1968, in Sells. He was a groundskeeper for the Tohono O’odham Nation and also was a rancher who liked to ride horses, known as an "all-around cowboy."
He was a Pakola dancer and a certified mechanic and heavy equipment operator. He was very outspoken but had a great sense of humor. He loved being with his family and especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Dwayne Lopez of Santa Rosa and Wayne Lopez Jr. of San Miguel Village; two daughters, Juana and Waynelle Lopez of Santa Rosa; two brothers, Fidelis Lopez of Santa Rosa and Ronald Lopez of Hopi; two sisters, Sylvia Lopez and Vivian Carlos of Santa Rosa; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, David Lopez and Cecilia Aguilla, and a brother, Rudy Lopez.
