Whit Garcia

PICACHO — Whit G. Garcia, 86, of Picacho died on Feb. 12, 2010 at Southern Arizona VA Medical Center in Tucson.
The celebration of life will begin at 6 p.m. Wednesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel in Eloy, with Pastor Edward Wooten officiating. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Casa Grande Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. Garcia was born on May 20, 1923 in Candelaria, Texas, and was a son of Jose H. and Petra Garcia. He served in the Army during World War II. He owned and operated South Side Garage in Picacho for 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Survivors include three sons, Greg H. and Art Garcia of Picacho and Vincent Garcia of Casa Grande; two daughters, Nellie Prince of Durham, N.C., and Mary Renner of Picacho; two brothers, Juan Garcia of Tucson and Fred Garcia of Picacho; a sister, Mary Malenado of Modesto, Calif.; 21 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Manuela, and four brothers, Issac, Lupe, Guillermo and Joe Garcia.
