With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Wilana K. Thomas-Gopher, aged 38, who left us on November 28, 2024. Born on October 17, 1986, to Gary W. Lewis and Willa Thomas, Wilana’s spirit was one of warmth and joy.
Wilana was more than a mother, daughter, sister, and friend; she was a cherished caregiver whose love knew no bounds. Her laughter was infectious, a symphony of joy that echoed through the lives of her family and friends. With an innate ability to uplift those around her, she had a unique gift for bringing light into the darkest moments. Whether sharing a silly joke or offering a listening ear, she had an incredible knack for nurturing connections. Wilana adored her nieces and nephews, showering them with affection that made their laughter ring like music in her heart. She was a true social butterfly, welcoming all into her orbit with open arms.
Though she faced her own struggles, Wilana wore a smile that could rival the sun, illuminating the path for others. Her journey, however, was not without sorrow. She is preceded in death by her beloved son, Jayden Thomas, her precious daughter, Baby Girl Thomas, her dear parents Gary and Willa, as well as her brothers Calvin Lyons and, Martinez J. Lyons and sister Melanie F. Lewis.
Wilana leaves behind her loving siblings: Garin Thomas, Marvana Lyons, Raina Lewis, Jaque Lewis, Lone Arrow Lewis, and each carrying forward her vibrant legacy. Her memory will forever be a beacon of hope and kindness in the hearts of those who knew her.
In honor of Wilana's remarkable life, a visitation will take place on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the District 5 Multipurpose Building at 6:00 PM. Followed by graveside services at Sacate Cemetery 7:00 am on Sunday, December 15, 2024, as we gather to celebrate a life lived with boundless love and laughter.
