Wilbert Ray Jackson, 80, of Casa Blanca, passed away peacefully on October 19,2024. He was born on January 24, 1944, in Sacaton to the late Andreas and Lillian Jackson.
A diligent and dedicated farmer, Wilbert retired after an impressive 40 years with Gila River Farms, yet he continued to cultivate his passion for farming at the Community Garden. Throughout his life, he contributed to his community by serving a term as a councilman for District 5 and participating in various community committees. His commitment to the well-being of others was evident in his active involvement with the elderly group in District 5.
Wilbert had an appreciation for the finer things in life, particularly cars and clothing, always ensuring that he looked his best. He was not only a hardworking individual but also a loving and dedicated father. Known for his calm demeanor, fairness, and strong yet gentle approach, he instilled in his children the importance of good values. Wilbert's love extended to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, whom he cherished and cared for deeply, making his family his utmost priority.
He is lovingly remembered by his longtime companion, Betty, his daughters Lavelle, Lucinda, and Renee Jackson, and his son Andrew Jackson. Additionally, Wilbert is survived by his siblings Franklin Jackson Sr., Reynold Jackson, Deborah Jackson, and Andrea Nelson, along with his nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Wilbert Ray Jackson will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of hard work, love, and community service will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
A wake service will take place on Saturday, November 2nd, at 6 PM at the District Five Multipurpose Building in Casa Blanca, followed by graveside services on the morning of November 3rd at 8 AM at Sacate Cemetery.
