MARICOPA — Wilbert Jones, 77, of Maricopa died on Jan. 18, 2012, at home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande.
Mr. Jones was born on Oct. 4, 1934, in Beaumont, Texas, and was a son of Richard and Rosella Jones. He was a bakery supervisor and retired from Nabisco after 27 years. He could fix just about anything and was called "The Doctor" by his closest buddies and "PawPaw" by his family and friends. He sang in the Jones Singers quartet in his youth and led a 50-voice choir in Beaumont at West Tabernacle Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, camping and watching CNN and MSNBC.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Cynthia; three daughters, Mary E. Harden and Pam Lynch of Goose Creek, S.C., and Brenda J. Britton of Richmond, Va.; four sons, Alan W. Jones of Chandler, Donald Jones of Goose Creek, Kenneth W. Jones of Oakland, Calif., and Sean Curry of Avondale; 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Wilbert J. Jones Jr.; three sisters; and six brothers.
