Wilbert Lee Prock, 74, of Casa Grande and formerly of Eloy, died on May 19, 2013, at Hospice Family Care.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel in Eloy. The funeral will follow at 10, with the Rev. Maria Watson officiating. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mr. Prock was born on Aug. 3, 1938, in Tyler, Texas. When he was 2 he moved with his parents, Denny and Floy Mae Prock, to Eloy. He graduated from Santa Cruz Valley Union High School in 1957 after lettering in four sports and being homecoming king and student body president. He attended Northern Arizona University for two years, then transferred to Grand Canyon University and received a bachelor's degree in physical education. He was a jack-of-all-trades. He taught for a while, refurbished old cars, rebuilt engines in his small home shop and installed them. His latest venture was in real estate, building homes and remodeling old ones.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brother Dan and longtime friends Paul Shumaker and Bill Crane. His greatest joy was working on old cars with his grandsons Christian Leon and Damon Dustrud. He spent many happy years in Eloy with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Betty J.; a son, Jeffrey T. Prock of Long Beach, Calif.; three daughters, Jill T. Dustrud of Casa Grande, Kimberly Riggs of Phoenix and Shelley Voss of Vernon; his father, of Casa Grande; a brother, Danny Ray Prock of Dewey; a sister, Pat Sterkenburg of Casa Grande; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother and two brothers, Kenneth and Vernon.
