Wilford Hicks

ELOY - Wilford Hicks, 74, of Chandler died June 16, 2008 at Gilbert Mercy Hospital.


Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel. The funeral will follow at 10, with Pastor Charlie Joe Payne officiating.

Mr. Hicks was born April 9, 1934 in Tyler, Texas, and was a son of Elder Hicks and Rosie L. Williams. He was a laborer. His favorite hobby was gardening. He loved his grandchildren and spending time with his stepgrandchild Kera.

Survivors include his wife, Mozell Hicks of Eloy; four daughters, Lajuana Hicks of Gilbert, Ruby and Rosetta Hicks of Tucson and Lonnie Shell of California; three stepdaughters, Lori Vasquez of Cleveland, Mary Bigham and Sharon Sweat of Tucson; a son, James Walker of Chandler; two stepsons, Gregory Bigham of Casa Grande and Donny Bigham of Arizona City; three sisters, Nadine Hicks and Bertha White of California and Arthree Hicks of Texas; three brothers, Will and Buford Hicks of California and John Hicks of Ohio; 10 grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Riley Hicks, and a sister, Liverine Hicks.
