CASA GRANDE - William Leslie "Bill" Garrett, 83, a longtime Casa Grande resident and retired teacher, died on Aug. 9, 2017, at Banner Casa Grande Medical Center, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Garrett was born on April 2, 1934, in Globe to Walter and Dorothy Garrett. He served in the Air Force from 1956 until 1960, was honorably discharged and returned to his home in Arizona. He was a dedicated teacher for more than 30 years and received a master's degree in education.
He was a member of Elks and was well known throughout the city. Known for his personality, he was always aware of what was going on in everyone's life and seemed to have an answer for everything.
Survivors include his wife, Linda L.; a daughter, Dana Lynn Garrett; a son, Brett W. Garrett; a stepson, Brent A. Heffron; two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife and his sisters, Dorothy J. Scott and Barbara R. Little.
Memorial service at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, with military honors and Bill Heinle officiating. Private inurnment in Mountain View Cemetery.
