William Salmons,

William Anderson "Bill" Salmons Jr., 87, of Casa Grande died July 20, 2009 in Casa Grande.

A private service is planned.

Mr. Salmons was born in Sugar Grove, Va., and was a son of William A. Salmons Sr. and Minnie C. Nelson. He served in the Army during World War II with the famous Merrill's Marauders in the China Burma India Theater. After the war he worked in a number of trades before finding his niche as an appliance repairman with his own business. He loved to fish, hunt, garden and spend time with his family.

Survivors include three sons, Bryan M. and Charles "Bill" Salmons of Casa Grande and Tony Salmons of Los Angeles; a daughter, Paula Salmons of Casa Grande; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline; a son, Paul Salmons; four brothers; and three sisters.
