William "Steve" Storie

June 5, 1951 — August 21, 2023

Casa Grande

On Monday, August 21st, our father, William " Steve" Storie, succumbed to his battle to cancer. Steve was born in Florence, Arizona on June 5, 1951 & he grew up and worked as a Cotton Farmer in Maricopa until he moved to Casa Grande in 1994. He married his wife, Arlene DiMaggio, on August 27, 1973- almost 50 years ago next week!
A life-long Phoenix Suns fan who ,without fail, every year spent his days watching his favorite team and dissecting the players, waiting for the draft, & worrying about injuries and trades.
When he had free time, he was teaching his children, Shannon , Kristie, Steven, and Jennifer how to work on cars or he would enthusiastically discuss our family lineage- dating back to the 1765 in Scotland!
Throughout his life, Steve was an avid outdoorsman, always obtaining hunting passes and had a hunting session in his schedule, whether it be: mule deer, white tail, elk, dove, or wild boar. When he wasn't outside working on cars for his enjoyment or helping family;  he was with his wife.  We had a family saying that came to be "if Grandpa cannot fix it, then it is totally broken."  That meaning, more than just vehicles and electronics, he also healed our broken hearts, repaired our wondering minds and fixed our troubled days.
Preceded in death by his father, William Doil Storie, and his mother, Gladys Marie McClure.
He is survived in death by his wife, 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and countless friends and family he "adopted" and raised as his own .
His sole sibling, David K Storie, his wife Gloria Johnson Storie, and his niece, Kimberly Storie.
As we say our goodbyes to the last of a dying breed, but not really a goodbye, but just a "see you when we see you Pops!"
We want you, Steve, to know that every time, we close our eyes or pick up a wrench or a fishing pole, YOU ARE HERE!
You are not forgotten.
We love you.
