William Van Meter

William Van Meter, 63, of Casa Grande died May 3, 2008 at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.


Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. May 17 at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The funeral there will follow at 11, with Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1677 officiating. Interment will be in Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Sierra Vista.

Mr. Van Meter was born Oct. 25, 1944 in Perry Township, Ohio, and was a son of Glenn W. Van Meter and Clarissa Clayton. He had a career in the Army and also was a postal worker.

Survivors include his wife, Janice; two daughters, Lynnette Young of Mesa and Susan Cannady of Phoenix; two stepdaughters, Dee Chandler of Wisconsin and Cindy Waughtal of Washington; a son, William Van Meter of New Jersey; two sisters, Floria Blair and Buelah Mootispaw of Florida; and 17 grandchildren.
