Winona Pratt

SACATON - Winona Pratt, 77, of Sacaton died on July 5, 2015, at Caring House.

Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. today at First Presbyterian Church in Sacaton. The funeral there will be at 5 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Aaron Johns officiating. Burial will be in East Sacaton Cemetery.

Mrs. Pratt was born on March 20, 1938, in Sacaton. She was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed cooking with her grandchildren, being outdoors, listening to music and dancing. She also enjoyed listening to the radio with her son Sam and speaking the O’odham language.

Survivors include two daughters, Ellen and LaQuinta Pratt of Sacaton; two sons, George Pratt of Snaketown and Samuel W. Pratt III of Sacaton; a sister, Louella Hendricks of Sacaton; a brother, Wilfred Wellington of Sacaton; 21 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel W. Pratt Jr.; three daughters, Leola, Andrea and Ruth Pratt; a brother, Leon Wellington; and two sisters, Elvira Wellington and Myra Morago.
