Azalea F. “Zaya” Ramirez, 27, of Mesa died on Dec. 7, 2010, in Phoenix.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday at the District 3 Service Center, with a wake continuing after 10 at the Jackson home. The funeral will be at 9 a.m. Thursday at River of Life Assembly of God, with Bishop David Rice officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery in Bapchule.
Ms. Ramirez was born on July 17, 1983, in Phoenix. She was a homemaker and loved to cook and bake. She was well liked, full of joy and had an open heart. She was a mother figure to her sisters and friends. She loved her “Pooh Bear,” fiance Phillip Antone. She was a good mother and loved to draw.
Besides her fiance, survivors include a daughter, Daje Batson of Mesa; eight sisters, Sabrina F. and Debra Ramirez of Sacaton, Sophie Ramirez of Missouri, Isabel Jackson of Mesa, Starlene and Sunshine Jackson of Sacaton and Josephine and Lori Jackson of Phoenix; five brothers, Mercedes and Albert Ramirez of Mesa, Steven Wilson of Sacaton, Kevin Jackson of Phoenix and Lawrence Jackson of Florida; and her foster mother, Citaria Jackson of Sacaton. She was preceded in death by her mother, Delores M. Ramirez; her foster father, Stanford Jackson; and grandparents, Florencio and Frances Ramirez.
